This joint revolutionizes the work of joining high-voltage cross-linked polyethylene insulated cables.  CSJs allow joint work to be performed quickly, easily and securely, without requiring special skills. The special features of CSJs are as follows:

Point 1 Point 2

The CSJ body is a single-piece (unit) ferrule of pre-molded silicone rubber.
The characteristics of the silicone rubber material are superior to EPR and provide stable interfacial electrical characteristics due to the excellent contact with the cable surface.

A single CSJ unit contains a (stress-relief) high-voltage electrode, an insulation layer, a stress-relief cone and an (outer) external semiconductive layer.
This construction optimizes the electric field.
This single unit represents the main insulating component, so there are far fewer insulating parts than in conventional joints.

Point 3 Point 4

In the factory, the inner diameter of a CSJ is expanded to be larger than the outer diameter of the cables it will join.  The diameter is expanded with a carrier pipe fitted at the factory, so there is no need to expand the diameter on site.

On site, all that assembly technicians need to do is pull out the carrier pipe.  The joint's inner diameter naturally contracts to fit the cables, so there is no need for any special skills or equipment.
In only ten minutes, the rubber unit is completely fitted.
Shorter on-site working times improve the reliability of the interfacial part
